How about learn to draw books? I know my older students love those activites
and there are numerous examples. Does he have acces to a compouter? The
smithsonian has a cool website for kids. Also, Crayola has an activity page.

I hope everything turns out well for your nephew. I have a 12 year old myself
and I would be devastated if he became ill. JH
