some other thoughts on this process-
-If you use crayon melters (Sax) it does make the melting part easy.
-Try soy crayons(Prang) no odor,melts quickly , absorbs easily. If you
use regular crayons, you need to be careful of the odor and have
good ventilation.
-I 've used India ink over the crackled crayons.
-Also try doing some stitchery over the batik.
