Jackie,
You are not alone. I don't have your experience but, I started at
$16,000
at a private school. After 5 years , teaching grades 2-12th , 6 to 7 classes
a day
and over 600 students a week ( I began the Pre-primary- 8th) I'm making $26
with a $5400 tuition paid for my 6th grade son.
As a single Mom, with 2 in college, and an 86 yr. old Mother at home, this is
a crying shame. Considering the coaches make $10K to $12K more a year plus
stipends......
and you could really build up some resentment. I'm there 10 hours a day and
add
weekend hours on prep and the kiln watching. You have to love what you do....
we all know it's not the pay.
Patti
