    Something I tried this year...I included the gathering and taking home of
    portfolios on the final exam (high school). I actually gave points to kids
    for getting all their work together, putting it in portfolio and walking out
    the artroom door with it. I went back and took points from kids who left
    their stuff. Seemed to work!
    I feel guilty about this punitive method- but it eliminated me having to
    dispose of the stuff, and at least they got into the hall with their
    work.Whether or not it got home...who knows!
