I taught K-8 the last 2 yrs and I would rifle thru the students completed
work and take what I wanted for the Art shows. There was no storage space in
the room so I was forced to have students take artwork home right after
grading it to make room for storing the new projects. When kids discovered
their Art missing, I would tell them I had it and was putting it in the art
show . All my students were required to sign their Art and write thei class
and section. I'd return it when I took down the show...That worked well for
me there.
This new thread is something I haven't considered till now. I am thinking
that in my new middle school (6,7,8) position, I'll have each grade every day
for a semester, and then probably get new kids again the next. I also don't
know if they have art shows. Hard to figure when you don' have any info! Is
it a universal thing that middle school students don't want their artwork?
Will I have room for portfolios in the room? I guess I'll have to wait and
see and deal.......
