At parent conferences I give artwork back to the parents.
Unfortunately, we don't get a lot of parents so I still have much left
over. Someone on the list mentioned a brilliant idea to announce that
when you give work back to the students, anything left behind or thrown
in the trash gets an F. I used that idea at the end of the school year
and it worked like a charm. As this person mentioned, it must not be
"cool" for them to take their work home, but when the teacher _forces_
you, well, what can you do?
Oh, and I did cruise around the hallway to check the trash cans for art.
