while doing some guest teaching here in NZ.... i came across an AMAZING
pencil. (you know you're an art teacher/artist when the most exciting
thing that happened to you all day is that you found excellent pencils...
and try to tell everyone and their mother out of sheer excitement who
just don't find it as interestin as you and give you funny looks)
anyway.... theyre by koh-i-noor called "hardimuth" and they make them in
smaller (normal pencil) size and big ones called "omega"
theyre reallly smooth, blend well, and the kids did some amazing stuff
with them. i dont know how much they cost, but i think i remember the
teacher saying 1.00nz (.50US) a piece. i also don't know the availability
in the states... perhaps judy can enlighten us?
i'm planning on buying some for my own use, and could look into prices if
anyone is interested. i believe the koh-i-noor products are made somewhere
in europe, which would be cheaper to ship than from here anyway.
just thought i'd spread the good supply news on to people who actually
care!
