Janice,
I've been following your roller coaster job search with great sympathy.
In my own experiences--and we're the same age--I've found that big
disappointments, which left me tearful and depressed, were probably made
to happen, as though to free me for the Big Thing I was looking for.
I've been very happily employed in the same district for 16 years now,
and did not even apply for the original position I had here for the
first seven years (they just offered me a job since I was certified as a
reading specialist). Keep your eyes and ears open, be open to any
possibilities, even if it's just for a year--"you can handle anything
for nine months." Some good friends encouraged me to accept this job
with those very words.
Best of luck to you.
Maggie
