I wanted to share my summer camp experience so far.
Because of all of your help, suggestions and encouragement The Fine Arts Camp
started on 6/12 with the 1st session concentrating on painting and drawing.
'This weeks special Guest Artist is Picasso so our theme evolves around
Cubism and abstract art. Our main project is a paper mache piggy bank (made
from a gallon milk jug) named PIGasso. They will paint this in Picasso's
cubist style. so far they look great. We are also drawing and painting each
day. Big and beautiful paintings!
WE have a table full of books on Picasso, "picasso type" building toys and 12
etch-r-sketches. We practice our Cubist style with these! We have snack and
"critique time" (we meet 9-12) and the time flies!
Session II Guest artist is Matisse-a week of Collage and cut-outs!
Session III Guest artists are Henry Moore and Louise Nevelson- Here come
those Pantyhose and hanger sculptures!!! and tons of "found object"
sculptures. We will be carving too!
We took no more than 12 kids (aged 7-11) per session and it is sooo enjoyable
to have time and space! I wish I could do this all year!
Thanks for always sharing and listening!
Peace
Gabrielle
