No offense Tara, but your font is kind of difficult to decifer. You might want to rewrite.

Subject: Help identifying a painting
Hello everyone,
I'm hoping someone out there can help me. A couple of years ago I saw a painting in a book or on the web and while I enjoyed it, I didn't bother making an effort to remember it. Now I'm looking for examples of paintings that feature the Hong Kong influence on British/American women and of course I can't remember anything identifiable about the painting I once saw.
I'm hoping if I describe it someone else will recognize it and can send me more details.
The painting consisted of two women, 1 standing on the left and 1 seated on the right.
I pretty sure it was an oil painting done in the 1880's (give or take 5 years) based on the clothes they were wearing.
The style could be called realism but it reminded me more of the traditional style of portraiture.
The standing woman wore a dark coloured dress of simple ornamentation and was slightly turned away from the other figure.
The seated woman was sitting but in a reclined manner. She had a full shiny peach skirt and a pink brocade Chinese jacket on. I believe one of her feet was showing wearing a light coloured slipper.
There was a strong feeling of contrast between the women based on their clothing and posture but somehow they also seemed connected.
Really the entire focus was on the women rather than the setting but I do sort of remember that it was an interior place but with distant walls as if they were in a warehouse or other large space.
Of course this entire description is based on memory and may be slightly wrong but if anyone knows of any paintings that are similar could you please let me know where to find them?
Thanks, Tara.
