I have all 7th graders for 9 weeks( 4 days per week) and it is way too short
a period of time. I am only able to cover 3 ( at most 4) major units with
them. >>
i am in the same situation. my 6, 7, and 8th grade classes are 5 days a week
for 8 weeks. the eight weeks is often less, like this semester with final
exams and awards assemblies etc. even less during winter with holidays and
snow days. i feel i teach only 3 or four lessons. i focus on drawing, we do
a self portrait which is where i do color theory, a print, and my semester is
over. i long to teach the hudson river school (i am in new york) and
perspective, and clay. my question is whether to touch on many things
lightly, or go indepth into 3 or 4. i am now setting up a plan for next year
and would love to hear your ideas.
