    My advice would be for you to look into Paint Shop Pro. I teach high school
    and I have Photo Shop, Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw and Corel Paint....and
    Paint Shop Pro will do it all and it's MUCH, MUCH easier. What you're
    suggesting is to difficult for middle school students.

    I have a student who does a look of drawing and painting and has his own web
    site...he's really good and he uses Paint Shop Pro. Kept asking me to "just
    try it"...but I wouldn't...until a week ago. I'm sold on it.

    You can download a trial version free on the internet. Just do a search for
    Paint Shop Pro...made by JASC.

    teaching middle school and the only software we had was Paint that comes
    with Windows.
