    Diane,

My favorite dyes are the Procion dyes. I buy the powder and use a mask over
my face when measuring. The colors are brilliant and stay fast when boiling
out the wax. If I don't want to go to the trouble of boiling, I iron out the
wax (I prefer a mixture of beeswax and paraffin) between newsprint and then
send it to the dry cleaners to get the rest out. The fabric comes back soft
again and without any oil stains. I melt my wax in electric skillets (I got
all mine at yard sales) to keep it at a constant safe temperature and rest
my tjanting sticks and brushes on the edge with the points in the wax.

    Happy waxing, Ginny
