    Ann, Larry, Woody, Michelle and all othrs. Do you mind if I forward some of
    these questions to my husband or my father? they are both social studies
    teachers and religious history experts and might love to participate here.

    By the way, we are referring to the Constitution.

    Also, I agree that one or even many unenlightened acts based on the accepted
    values of a time period does not negate any enlightened ideas they had. We
    are now the OLDEST surviving republic of our kind. We are so used to think
    of America as young. The founders did something right!
