Jesus answered the pharisees and said: "do not lay heavy burdens on
other men's shoulders". These are LAWS you speak of from the Old
Testament, not beliefs or doctrines. Jesus brought us the core value:
Love of God and Neighbor, which is ALSO mentioned in the Old Testament,
but somehow gets lost in the literal mind of those who are quick to
ridicule the Bible and religions. I like what the Jesuits taught me:
Listen to the "Spirit of the Law, not the letter of the law". I would
add Do not condemn all Christians and Religious people because of their
mistakes. I agree with Larry that we need to develop more understanding
and temperance towards others. Let's include people of religion in our
efforts towards accepting diversity. Compassion.
Yet, personally, in my own life, things have certainly gone much better
when I bear in mind the fundamental laws of nature and God..
