    Larry (S),

Indeed - very sticky! And that was a well thought response you sent us.

And I agree with you that it is neither the place of the teacher to
disparage any or all religious or faith beliefs. I try not to myself, but
will freely discuss/argue with anyone who wants to state that any of them
are Truth, much less the Only Truth.

Back in the 70's, I was ordained (keep your hat on, Woody; I know it was a
lark) by the Universal Life Church. I think the founder was doing a little
    too much cheap wine...

But the good thing about ULC was that it had only two tenets:

    1) Every person is entitled to her or his own belief, and
    2) Every person is entitled to preach that belief to whomever wants to
    listen.

That's about as close as you can get to universal tolerance and free speech.

Or, in the words of Robert Heinlein, "I knew a little lizard once who
maintained that his ancestors had been great and terrible monsters. I saw
no harm in letting him believe that. It wasn't hurting anyone, and there is
so little happiness in the world that if this is all it takes to make him
happy and proud of himself, so be it."

For myself, I never berate people to their face about their beliefs. None
of us knows for sure what the Truth is. But by the same respect, I don't
appreciate others getting in my face about my beliefs.

    Larry
