We have a problem, especially in the summer with people helping themselves
to supplies in our cupboards. Our boss will not let us lock them, I almost
have him convinced that we need to put toddler locks on them to prevent
slammed fingers. I'm thinking about hanging a sign inside each cupboard. It
will be in the person's face as they open the cupboard. That way when we
catch them taking stuff out they can't give us this innocent act. If you
were a parent at the museum and saw this sign when a staff member opened the
cupboard (or a toddler opened all of 11 of the bottom cupboards) would you
be insulted. I'm not worried about insulting the petty thieves, but I don't
want a parent or child who happens to see the sign because we open the door
to be insulted.
Supplies are purchased for specific exhibits and classes. Helping yourself
to supplies can leave a planned class or activity without enough supplies.
Please inform a staff member if a table needs to be restocked.
