I have been using digital cameras for 2 or 3 years and I bought a Sony
Mavica 83 (I think...it's the one with the movie capabilities).
I have been using cameras for a number of years...and I find that I do not
even use my Canon camera (my NICE camera) any more.
I love the ease of taking a box of disks with me when I go somewhere. I can
fill up the disk, pop another one in and keep on going. I ended up taking
digital images of an entire art show...came home, popped the disks in the
computer, cleaned up the edges, and created a Power Point show for my
students in just a matter of a short time. WONDERFUL!
Another thing that is so good about the Sony that I got...is that the image
I take is about 17"x22" or something similar...and then when I reduce it to
a smaller size...and print on photo paper, you can NOT tell it was taken
with a digital camera.
I use it in my classroom...we take photos of each student on their own disk
for them to use to manipulate using graphic software. It's so easy to pop
each disk in...take the photo...put in another disk...and so on.
We also use this camera to take a 5 sec video of students introducing their
Power Point presentations...for whatever class they're taking. It's so easy
for each student to bring their disk...take the image of them introducing
their presentation...giving them the disk and they're "on their way".
It's the best I've seen....and I paid about $650 for mine.
