Marsha,
I am sorry to hear about your loss- it is really a loss. The pain will go
away and the paycheck will eventaully arrive.Try this... Grab a digital
camera or whatever you have hanging around and record your memories and make
yourself a scrapbook to look back to. Take pictures on top of pictures- at
the coffee crew, your class, administration, custodians, secretaries, some
unclaimed art laying around, bulletin boards, hallways, then have the kids
(who come back before the final day) write down messages for you about your
program to look back to- Memories will make you happy- you might even
consider creating a journal of some of the stuff you went through- like that
kid who drove you crazy- print out what you wrote us last night and save it
for the scrapbook. I bet you will able to add student work lying around in
your hummock!
Look forward to your future, but don't say goodbye to your past, get all the
email addresses you can and perhaps create a web page like Woody has. It has
his family at home and family at school- as well as a guestbook to sign.
Maybe your former students can keep in touch with you that way. Good luck
and my heart is with you-
jeannie in ga
