We have been doing electronic portfolios for two years. They are a tremendous
advantage because as Carolyn said, students who are going to art schools can
have multiple copies of their portfolio to send out all at once. Not only
that the original artwork stays with the student and does not get handled to
death. Students grumble about keeping up with their portfolios, but this year
when one of mine had to have his portfolio immediately to interview for a
scholarship, and all he had to do was make a copy and hand it over, I think
it made a lasting impression. On the interviewer too. Especially when he
could take it with him without any worry about getting it back to us. I just
love days like that!!!
