    Following the thread regarding achievement testing and the arts.

    In two years Missouri will test the arts on their acheivement test. The arts
    will be tested only on the fifth grade level. These arts
    include music, drama and dance. Our little school does not teach drama or
    dance.
    The children will view a video and be tested on it's content. How this will
    work I
    do not know. Preliminary testing results haven;t been great. but they have
    two years to work out the bugs. PE was tested this year and I am anxious to
    hear how that
    outcome was. So hopefully we;ll be given clues as to what artists the
    students
    should know about, what isms etc. I';m not sure it should be tested on the
    achievement tests but some of the art teachers feel that the testing will
    give more credibility to the subject of art. Hopefully. Roberta
