    You are right!
    I have only been in Texas for 6 years and this was the first decent pay
    increase. Many years back I was told they received one...but had to work more
    days, so in reality it wasn't a pay increase. I am thankful.....Hopefully
    its a good start. Some of our schools really needed to come up to a basic
    standard. Actually from what I understand similar exams like TASS are being
    instituted all across the nation.
    In my readings there also seems to be a movement in some states to require
    Exams not only in Reading and Writing...but in the Fine Art areas...has
    anyone had any experience in this...and what is your opinion?
