i begin introducing my perspective lesson to middleschoolers as the single
most difficult and the most fun concept i cover. i do one point in 7th grade
and two point in 8th. i let them know some will "get it" some may not.
everyone has to try. i relate my school experiences that include years of
not "getting it". we keep a light hearted approach, laugh a lot at the
mistakes, and marval at the successes.
p.s. i chaparoned the 8th grade class trip to ellis island last year. on
the ferry at the statue of liberty looking back at manhattan, a group of 8th
grade girls came screaming to me and pointing at the EXCELLENT example of the
buildings in two point perspective. they were jumping for joy that they
finally "got it".
