I have really mixed emotions about this. In the past, I would totally agree
about tenure- there's too many burnt out teachers that are still teaching
because no one can get rid of them. But on the other hand, if you are
tenured, you have the freedom to stand up for what you believe in even if
it's against the status quo. I'm afraid that absolutely no tenure systems
will result in teachers conforming to whatever the majority said just to
keep their job. It's a tricky issue.
