Fundraiser Ideas (thanks to all who contributed: SanD, Reatha, MaryB, =
Lorena, Judy, JeanKing). I tried to catagorize these. Some details were =
left out, such as profits, etc. If you have more to add....
EVENTS:
Volleyball marathon (lock in gym overnight)
Watermachine
Marathon (coordinate with town & local runners club)
"Cow Plop Bingo" - selling 12 inch squares in a field and whichever is =
plopped in first takes home the prize - usually a percentage of the =
profit)
Auctions - local business donates scratch & dent (and better items), =
local pizza parlor attaches flyers to all delivered pizzas to announce =
event
Flea market (you charge vendors)
Prom dress sale - school gets about 50% of agreed-upon profit
"NON-EVENTS" - You mail invitations to individuals inviting them to stay =
at home, not get dressed, etc. "Phantom Dinners" are another name. =
Currently popular are "tea parties", you mail a tea bag with the =
invitation. May not work if your area already has some going on; usually =
works best around the holidays.
CAR WASH IDEAS
the typical car wash
Wash cars for the city or district (fire trucks, school buses, etc. and =
get paid lump sum for all washed)
"Car Care Day" - team up with local auto businesses and school tech =
classes to perform basic safety inspection, inconjunction with the =
National Car Care Council (October is "National Car Care Month")
SELLING STUDENT WORK
PMC (precious metals clay) jewelry (www.pmclay.com)
Ceramic Christmas ornaments
Cast Hand-made paper ornaments
Paint storefront windows for the holidays
Art Auction (school ususally makes about 10% profit)
Calendar - (themes abound, I saw one of student ink drawings that was =
wonderful), have printed at local print shop, Kinkos, etc.
Magnets, coffee cups, etc. - from those co.'s that reproduce student =
work on those items
OTHER
Sell concessions at sporting events (University appoints these spaces =
and coverage must be maintained to keep "contract" - students earn the =
minimum wage (about 5 students for 4 hours of work) which is given to =
the school
CANDY - buy wholesale and sell individual pieces at lunch, breaks, on =
buses, etc.
Sell Coffee and donuts to teachers on inservice or work days
Cheesecakes sales
Bake sales
