OBSERVATIONS:

During first day, after summer vacation, a fourteen-year-old
girl came into the art room, and announced: " I only draw horses
heads - side view. Shortly after, a boy came in and announced:
"I only draw 'hot rods' that I make up."

Each student had a personal agenda, and could draw these
objects with great skill. I said, "If you can draw animals and=20
automobiles with such skill, you can apply the same techiques
of observation and drafting to anything else. And so they did.
