Drawing/Problem Solving

Isn't art simply problem solving? You have a problem to solve : a
drawing to make. You must figure a way to solve the problem. As a
teacher, going through the discover of the problem, looking for
solutions (always a good idea with art) and coming up with the final
solution should be how we teach.

Drawing is a skill that is learned - are some people great at it yes!!!
I have experienced much failure when drawing has been involved. I can
draw my ideas for sculpture and such but to draw a portrait or landscape
I stink!

NOT every artist is a great realistic drawer -- I agree with Henry that
failure must be addressed in art and in school in general. It is part
of life and helps one grow to be a better person.
