Some children with natural talent and good role models can learn a good bit
that way. I know I learned a lot by looking at drawings by established
artists and real objects or beings. But I did not know what I knew until I
got into a classroom setting. Then I was able to manipulate my knowledge. So
I think they all need instruction. Those who will not ever have enough talent
and ability to get it on their own. And the artistically gifted and talented
who may not know what it is that they know and how to use it more effectively
without a little guidance. Besides I am still learning. And I am well aware
of the fact that what I already know helps me to learn more.
