If you're looking for something interesting to do regarding Arthurian
literature you might consider utilizing all the different interpretations.
For instance, Gawain was the Green Night according to many. Theories have
been postulated that there was more than one Gwenevere (sp?) ala some Henry
the 5th action, etc. There was even one author/historian (can't remember
her name at the moment) that has gone to great lengths to plot distances
and track ancient place names to actually make it seem plausible that
Arthur existed (sorry to you believers out there). Then again, there's a
small group of anthroplogists that believe humans had a water stage in
their development also. But this would explain Atlantis? Hmmm....

The Sean Connery movie was called The Last Night or First Night. Somethin'
like that, but I never saw it... There was the recently made-for-TV movie
about Merlin that is available on video, I believe it's called simply
"Merlin". I only saw part of it but it seemed accurate (Merlin was a Druid
but I don't know how far you would consider that an exploration into
fantasy) and I don't remember a lot of gore, in fact I don't remember any.

Does anyone out there use Fraser's Golden Bough in lessons on Medieval
History?
