Hi Stephanie -- I know the feeling you're looking for -- and in my
experience, I don't find that perfect -kazamm! - lesson from a resource,
but it's when I actually make connections my self -- that it comes from
within like a big light bulb over my head. I , too, scour books, internet,
other stuff, but the lessons that have the most meaning, the ones I really
look forward to doing year after year, are those that use all that input
but also really connect with everything I know the kids have already
experienced, and build on it, while tying in to the curriculum and
standards that we all know are important to teach. I think that's why I
really LOVE this job -- I get to create! Just like a work of art..... a
work of art that will hopefully enrich every student's life for years and
years. (hmmm, couldn't be that I'm actually missing the li'l guys? Nah --
a whole month and a half left of vacation!!!)
