Wendy...I think I have found a art teacher "soul mate". I agree with your
opinion and post. yes, I myself can be guilty of what I call "channeling
through the masters"..I think every teacher does it. Sometimes this is what
administrators think that ART is unfortunately. Sometimes I enjoy
it...especially with the little ones I teach because they find it so
interesting to see things and paintings that people who aren't "alive"
anymore have created. They enjoy it. BUT I also try to bring into my
curriculum new artists of todays age..to show them that art is still being
made in all different ways.

I have been spending time this summer looking at my curriculum and want to
really jazz up my activities and lessons. So I too am on the alert for new
and exciting ideas. I joined this listserve on the advice of a friend who is
also a teacher and have found it to be helpful, entertaining and friendly.

What I wonder is...where can you go on the net to find really exciting,
interesting fun educational ideas on working with art and children??? I'm
talking about the type of idea that really "smokes"!!! I'm looking for the
type of lessons that make you say "wow"!! That was one of my intentions with
creating the resource list..because sometimes just by picking up a book my
imaginations can be jumpstarted. Any direction from anyone will be
appreciated!
