A twist on Lynda's posting regarding her students working "under the
influence" of a living or dead artist which they have researched, we do a
similar project in our foundations program here at UF.

Students are randomly assigned the name of an artist (from a long list of
living and dead artists) which they then do library/web research on. They
return to the studio to create a work in which they "collaborate" with
their assigned artist on. This way there is a blending of the two styles
and perspectives.

Seems to me this has also been done by other artists including M. Shapiro.
