Daily American Art

One of the artworks I used in my "Daily American Art" is Grant Wood's
"American Gothic." I included the credit line below the artwork and some
questions deal with the credit line. Other questions are opinions like what
is happening in the work or why the artist choose the expressions on the
faces of the farmer and wife. Depending on the artwork, other questions
could deal with the mood of the work, descriptions, color scheme.
The students will need to either write the questions or form the answers to
restate the questions. This is stressed by our English and Social Studies so
I try to follow along with them.

This project is a lot of work but I feel it will be worth it in the long run.
Most of the artworks I grabbed from the Internet, some I scanned from
various art books.
