Power Point is software and what "I" use, however, I'm sure there is other
similar presentation software available. Hyperstudio is another type and
could be used. I also have Kai's Power Show at home and this could be used.
Power Point is more professional and I like it better...due to the ease of
using it.

My tv is connected to my computer using TV Elite (or something similar),
which costs about $130 and was purchased at Office Depot.

I "copy and paste" or INSERT the images...one slide at a time. This
software is easy to use.

My 8th graders had to learn to do a Power Point presentation on an artist of
their choice (from my list, however). They first searched the internet for
information and images (or scanned images from our textbooks) and saved
these to a disk. They spent much more time than I do completing a
presentation, because they wanted all the "bells and whistles"...neat
backgrounds, noises, fancy letters, etc. They were very creative. After
the project was complete, they told me that it was one of the hardest thing
they had had to do, but it was the best...that they learned more, and
recommended that ALL 8th graders have to do it.

Our 8th grade language arts teacher does something similar with his AG group
only. I did this in a mixed group, with several "special ed" students
included, including one student who was EMD. His presentation was short,
but he did it.

When I learned to use Power Point, it was in a workshop...which was more
confusing because the instructor tried to tell us everything it would do. I
only teach my students (and teachers) to do the very basics...and then they
pick up the rest very quickly, because they experiment.
