Respect: (V)Vocabulary

Respecting ones self is also learning to respect others. It is
fundemental to learn this
in the early years. We are not talking major concepts at this
age but age and
developmentally appropriate
ways of learning self awareness. Start off by
having everyone form a circle, then tighten and close the
circle(hold hands so they
keep them occupied). When everyone is close it becomes
crowded(V). When
everyone's apart, then everyone has their own space. Respect(V)
is thinking about
others feelings(V)and then making a choice to follow the rules
. Read several books
to the class on feelings, and respect you can find these at the
library. A good book
about boys is: The "wonder of Boys",& "A fine young man",by
Michael Gurian and
"Raising academically successful African American Males",by
Freeman A.
Hrabowski
Later,
Sandra
