use the internet in the art room. We are lucky enough to have an art
room where every student has a computer and internet connection. For 2
and a half years we have been learning about art on computers and
realize we're just scratching the surface...has anyone ever created a
virtual environment as an aesthetic experience / installation?
This fall I want to have students post their completed assignments on
the web, use e-mail, and find new ways to learn and create with the
technology we have available. I am going to try to put each assignment
on the web with links for students to visit in preparation for their own
art and ideas. The constructivist approach to teaching and learning
seems to be gaining momentum in connection with all the new
technologies. It's very challenging to try to put these theories into
practice.
I have a very modest web site located at this address:
http://home.earthlink.net/~ahmorrison
There you will see:
Student electronic art work from The Woodlands High School (TWHS)
Step by step instructions used in the AEM class
Evaluation criteria
Information on the TWHS art department
Art Electronic Media course descriptions
Links to related web sites
Research relevant to Art Electronic Media
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) and answers compiled by the advanced
AEM students
And you can complete a 6 question opinion poll that is an experiment
(approved by the Universtiy of Houston) in gathering information on the
web.
Hope to hear from you soon,
Anne
