Hi all,I wrote a note to Eric carle last week on his web page. Now
don't get me wrong I'm not under the illusion that he himself
responded.
Someone did,and to give you a hint it says fan club on the return
address. Well non the less if you haven't looked at it recently he
has loads of lessons posted to go with his books from other
Art/Educators.
You can also submit, or correspond. I corresponded and was delighted
to receive quite unexpectedly a package today in the mail from
him(?).
Inside is a really nice catalogue of his work and all the books
(dates)
with a picture of each cover.(Always thinking of bulletin boards and
the power over color copyers/scanners).Also what I treasure is
the,"How
Eric Carle Creates His Art". It is a 4 sheet fold out printed on
both sides. Nice color photos of him working and if you open it a
really nice
8 step process showing him(his hands) preparing and coloring tissue
paper(Using Liquitex acrylic, also my favorite) The pictures are
about
2"x 2". Under it is"how to make a collage illustration" It shows in
11 steps how to do the caterpillar from you can guess what story.
Also the envious studio space(Tables)I'd love. Well you can find him
at:
http://www.eric carle.com/

This fold out would be perfect to put up in the room. And the great
thing is I didn't ask for anything it was just sent.
Sandra
