What different media do you work in when creating tesselation designs?

I have my students first do tessellations using small squares of tagboard
and then draw them repeatedly, to make sure they understand the process.

Then, in the computer lab, using PAINT that comes with Windows 95, they
begin with a square and create a shape that will tessellate....repeat it at
least 5 times...turn it into something creative and add an appropriate
background.
