The PTO in my school district uses a program sponsored by the Minneapolis
Institute of Art called, I believe, Art Masterpieces. They have several
different themes which can be selected; just off the top of my head, I
remember one year's being "Heroes and Heroines". The volunteers have a
several hour training session at the museum, and are provided with
handouts relating to the prints plus suggestions for presenting them.
The parents go into the classrooms to present the prints; I believe they
work with all the grade levels (elementary). The program can conclude
with a tour at the museum. Our schol has used this for years, and it
seems to be very well received.
