Two artists who use the grid as a basis for their art :
Popular artist, Robert Silvers, uses the grid,the computer, and
photographs to construct pointillistic style compositions. His work is
easy to find anywhere posters are sold. Barnes and Noble carries a book
of his posters.
Portrait artist Chuck Close uses the grid, and paints "little sausages"
of color in each block to create pointillistic style portraits. He was
recently featured in a show at M.O.M.A., in an issue of Art & Man, and
in the magazine section of the N.Y.Times. His heroic comeback after
disability offers a connection to workplace readiness.
