Gail,
A different approach to figure drawing that I have taught to my fifth graders
is drawing figures in different types of lighting. I used one 100 watt
lightbulb in a photoflood and we studied side lighting, Rembrandt lighting,
Halloween lighting ( under the face) and pancake lighting or beauty lighting
which is directly above the figure and flat on the face. They loved it because
they got to see how the face can change with the lighting. A clip on reflector
can be clipped on a seat. I used a photo stand but I'm sure you can rig
something up as a substitute. Make sure you bring an extension cord.
