Hello Bunki and ArtsEd Net,

A few weeks ago I was looking through the artsed net archives and came
across the project "Screamers" (August, 1996). The project was
discussed by Bunki Kramer, Kathleen McCrea, and others. I am very
interested in this but I have many questions.???????

First of all, It was focused to junior high students. I believe that if
I modified the project I could use the same concept for 4th graders.
You see my schedule has changed for next year. I have 1st through 6th
graders for 50 minutes every week but I have the fourth graders for 100
minutes. (Two 50 minuste periods back to back). I thought that this
paper mache project would be great.

I have thought of showing JARASSIC PARK and found the show MOVIE MAGIC
on the Discovery Channel. I have video taped them.

My questions are....

Could the parents of 4th graders get upset with their children creating
giant monsters? Has this ever happened to you? Our community is rather
religious and Halloween is not celebrated very much either. I've
thought of discussing this with my principal. Maybe we could just
create dinosaurs?

Also I'm a little confused about how the basic body construction is
made? Could you explain? Is chicken wire used? Hangers?

Any other suggestions on how this could be made easier for younger
students?

Thanks a bunch!!!!!!!!

Oh Bunki, if you don't mind, what IS your first name? "Bunki" is really
cool!
