After sympathizing with all of you teachers who do no have an art room, I
have found myself in the same situation for next year. The school where I
teach is building an auditorium that will share a wall with the art room
(taking all of the windows and trees) and will redo the art room so that it
can double as a dressing room. Great, huh? Means I will be sharing classrooms
with academic area teachers, possibly all year during construction.
HELP! I am going to have to revamp plans for students at desks with no sinks
and minimal storage. I teach Art I-IV and AP Studio classes (probably Drawing
Portfolios this year). Any of you in similar situations that can make
suggestions or have great plans that I can use in another teacher's classroom
without leaving too much "evidence."
I am just beginning to pencil in ideas. Am thinking along the lines of a lot
a drawing, pen and ink, scratchboard, linocuts, etc., but I don't want to
shortchange my students because of the lack of facilities.
All ideas welcome!
