Hi, I'm new at this. I just subscribed today. I am a teacher in
training. I'm in a 5th year Masters in Ed. program at Pacific
University in Eugene OR. I will be graduating in December. I am a
great believer in adding art to as many aspects of a curriculum as
possible. I am creating an 18 week unit called "Journey's". It will
include myths and fairy tales, women's stories, heros/sheros, rituals,
and rites of passage. I want the studens to be able to create a self
mask which they can decorate to the image they want. It would be part
of the rites of passage section. I have looked, and I cannot find any
directions on how to make a self mask. I would think that part of the
creation would be one student touching another students face while
applying the plaster (or whatever). I also believe this touching is an
important aspect of the process. Any help would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks Judith judith
