In some ways, isn't philosophy (small p) little more that exploring the
ideas offered by another carefully and responding thoughtfully to them? I
think that the issues raised here deserve careful and thoughtful
responses. Anyone can make them. Here at the end of the century, however,
we seem crucially pressed for time.

In Engineering it is often noted, ironically, that there is never really
the time to do things "right" but there is always time to do them over.
How often do we just look for something to do, some activity or lesson
plan, something with some justifying authority behind it without giving
much thought as to how or where it fits into the long trans-global
traditions of art or into our society?
