Several people have told me they think he was kidding. If he was, then many
others like me also believed he was serious. That's the danger with sarcasm
and satire. If you aren't an expert at writing it, many people
misunderstand. The problem is he's using the exact same excuses I've heard
for cutting the arts, particularly at the elementary level. I believe that
many people reading his article were knodding their heads in agreement and
muttering, "Yea, those kids are only coloring and cutting, why shouldn't
the program be cut?"

The only additional help I can give you concerning e-mail addresses is the
web home page of the school at This won't be
of much help to you as they don't have much there due to their overhaul of
the web site in progress.
