There is a very good and thorough book on ceramics, HANDS IN CLAY by
Charlotte Speight, that would make an excellent resource for you. It
has a lot of historical and cultural information about ceramics around
the world through time, including contemporary work, as well as all
the technical information about building, firing, and glazing one
would likely need to know.

I'm a high school art teacher, currently preparing to teach Ceramics
classes and Jewelry classes in the fall. If anyone on this list might
be kind enough to volunteer their ear and suggestions, please let me
know. Or if you know of some good resources either on the internet,
published in some form, or even a referral, I'd love to check into
these, too. Course outlines, lesson plans, project ideas, equipment
& supplies lists, assessment/grading ideas, etc... would all be very
helpful.
