Tonight, Lou Harry Editor-In-Chief of Arts Indiana Magazine
shall address the Board. Lou arrived here last year from
New Jersey with his family. He considered the IPS District
but instead chose a nearby district school with greater offerings
in the arts. Harry will tell the Board that if there was no
elementary art program he wouldn'thave even considered moving
in to the district.
Indianapolis is experiencing a renaissance downtown but the
central city school district with 47,000 students is not
adapting to the reviatlization (yet...)
School leaders must become more familiar with the importance
of art education.
