Nancy, I'd LOVE to share leson plans with you in art-math combo. Shall we
send each other some ideas? We both have each other's address. I can send
lots of things but tell me what grade level you'd mainly be interested in.

Sally, I used our tech lab year before last...there are 15 Power Macs...
and tried to teach a class of 35 how to use the drawing, painting programs
on Clarisworks. Doubling up on each machine was a waste of time so I
traded off prep times with another teacher and she watched 1/2 my class
while I taught the other. I spent 3 days with each group and we finally
did some really nice artwork with these programs but it took lots of work.
I showed the class on a overhead computer system (in my room) to tell them
what to do with the program before we actually went into the lab. As I
said, it was lots of work and TIME spent. Now that other teachers are
using it I couldn't find a large block of time to schedule my class so I
gave up the idea of using the lab last year. I have one in my classroom
now and occasionally I'll let a really good student use it when they've
finished a project. I also used the lab for computer art-math
tessellations....called TESSAMANIA but ONLY after we did them the regular
way by hand. We've also done some geometric drawing with Clarisworks draw
program and I like THAT. I could send you a few samples if you give me
your address and if you are interested. Let me know.
