I read her autobio Through the Flower shortly after graduating from college.
At that time I was experimenting with airbrush. Her experiences inspired me
to apply for jobs at body shops after I moved to Tucson to learn to paint on a
larger scale with big boys' tools (I never got any of the jobs--the one
interview I had was with a sexist pig who must have thought it was "cute" that
I would even apply; funny, he complained about how his employees would show up
hungover or not at all, and I know I would've been his best employee.)
Enjoy Ruidoso; beautiful part of the state.
